Absent of Absence (2016)

Co-created by Lisa Roggenbuck & Lukas Evergreen, the two artists crawl along an infinity-shaped path while dragging buckets of dirt for 5 hours. Evergreen lays piles of dirt every few feet while Roggenbuck gathers the dirt. The audience watches this grueling performance while the sound of a heart rumbles more aggressively with each beat, eventually yielding as a load “crack” felt from the bass speakers.

Absent of Absence is about the inevitability of change: Formation eventually breaks down, only to be restructured & led again to destruction.
